Turn On The Light

Tue, 08/07/2012 - 06:44 — Thabo Mokete

Turn on the light -
See things for what they are;
Not for what they should be,
Not for what they could be,
Not for what they will be;
See beauty in the way things are.

Turn on the light -
Listen to the sounds;
Stop arguing and listen,
The speaking is done for you.
Keep your opinion,
Find meaning in the spoken words,
Embrace your gift of understanding.

Turn on the light -
Stop changing the world;
Stop moving things around;
See the world as it is;
Accept it for what it is;
Then see the beauty that you can create in it.

Shame and Grace Part 6 - The Misbehaving

Tue, 07/10/2012 - 06:57 — Thabo Mokete

A persistent, unacceptable behaviour is like a headache that will not go away. It is there for a reason, and that reason is on the inside where healing is desperately needed.

Perhaps, like a messenger who brings unpleasant news, it is very tempting to want to stop the headache, so we can continue feeling all right. Alas, but we can't be good by changing our behaviour, rearranging things on the outside and moving circumstances around. That is the fraud of legalism. Appearing to have well-being when you don't actually have it.

Shame and Grace Part 5 - The Fall Is Not In The Eating

Tue, 06/26/2012 - 06:53 — Thabo Mokete

"...He does not put anybody to the test" James 1:13

There is a need to debunk the teaching that God gave Adam a law in order to test him, to see if he was capable of obedience. On the contrary, whenever the law is spoken, it is only as proof to us of our own fall. This then stirs in us the desire for correction by grace.

Dare To Be You Part 7 - Position

Tue, 06/19/2012 - 06:17 — Thabo Mokete

Every soul that is here was designed for a specific position in the bigger scheme of life. We have fulfillment as soon as we start living in that position.

Position here refers to the grounding we have in our inner being. We are not talking about social roles that are given to us by the institutions we participate in, such as father, mother, husband, wife, teacher, doctor, patient, manager, lawyer, professor and so on.

Dare To Be You Part 6 - Courage And Destiny

Tue, 06/12/2012 - 07:22 — Thabo Mokete

On the way to your shining goal, the one and only battle you will have to fight is the battle against unbelief. All other battles are purely consequential from this.

Destiny is something that is given to you by your leader and liberator. Within you. It is given.  The essential being that is waiting for you in spite of the current circumstances. The question is, are you going to believe? Are you going to obey? Are you going to press on toward it, in spite of whatever comes your way?

Dare To Be You Part 5 - Walking The Unfamiliar Road

Tue, 06/05/2012 - 07:14 — Thabo Mokete

Walking The Unfamiliar Road

There are leaders out there, but they are all institutional. Presidents, managers, fathers or mothers. They may not even have a basic idea where you are going, they cannot give you the direction you should take. Only a true leader can walk that unfamiliar road with you.

Dare To Be You : The Quest For Identity - Part 4

Tue, 05/22/2012 - 07:19 — Thabo Mokete

Then Comes The Liberator

There is something of a Pharoah in every human heart. The Biblical story Israelites in Egyptian bondage is a typical story of our lives. The question is, have we seen Moses?

To live is to be born into a world of bondage and necessity. This world takes everything given to us, our health, intelligence, creative energy and uses those to build its own empires. Empires in which we have no inheritance. This is what we call slavery. The life of constant grinding and  labouring without any gain to the soul whatsoever.

Dare To Be You : The Quest For Identity - Part 1

Tue, 05/15/2012 - 06:37 — Thabo Mokete

Part 1 - Identity And The Information Crusade

There comes a time when what we know about ourselves is no longer enough. When certain things happen to us that conflict with the ideas we have held for so long of who we are. Can we find the truth of who we are from the many stories that we have been given?

Dare To Be You Part 3 - On A Date With Destiny

Tue, 05/08/2012 - 07:01 — Thabo Mokete

If we must be moved by the power of destiny to become who we truly are, then we need  freedom from the chains that bind us to the current circumstances. For what good is it to have a great destiny if one cannot participate meaningfully in it?

Let Them Go Free, Part 3 - Moving Forward

Tue, 03/27/2012 - 06:42 — Thabo Mokete

Every person that I know is a connection with reality for me. That connection can either be healthy or unhealthy, estranged or peaceful. Thus, I do not move forward in life by removing unhealthy connections, but by resolving them into peaceful connections.

We have established earlier that memory is a file that cannot be deleted by us. Those things that have happened remain with us permanently in memory. It may seem that we remember and forget randomly, but when we look deeper, we find something else.
