Part 1 to Part 9 can be found on the web at this link:

Being married is the life of being caught between the things of society and the things of love.  Socially, marriage is concerned with the necessity of how to order the family in society. However, the reunion is concerned with love and communion between a man and a woman.

A closer look at the couple

Fellow Men Part 9 - The Quest For Love

Tue, 11/15/2011 - 13:40 — Thabo Mokete

(Part 1 to Part 8 can be found here

The paradox in our quest for love is that it is mainly an inward journey, even as we reach out  for one another externally. It is a continual climbing of new heights within, approaching the full awareness of love each and everyday.

Tue, 11/08/2011 - 05:57 — Thabo Mokete

(Part 1 to Part 7 can be found here

Why are we so taken with love songs? Are they simply sentimental pie in the sky or is there a deeper reality to them?

Just pick up a few love songs, listen closer to the words. Who are they singing about? Does that person exist?  Mind boggling!

Fellow Men Part 7 - The First Love And The Reunion

Tue, 11/01/2011 - 07:02 — Thabo Mokete

The first and greatest love a man will ever know is not the love of a woman. Rather it is the love that he has within himself.

The man-woman reunion demands that man must be settled in his own love first of all. It cannot be any other way, for the primary work of the heart is to experience and be united with its own love.

There is another way of saying this: That the primary work of the mind is to understand its own will. To know ones own love is the same as understanding one's own will.

Is It Sacrifice Or Compromise

Wed, 10/26/2011 - 13:52 — Thabo Mokete

“But whatever former things I had that might have been gains to me, I have come to consider as loss...” 1- Paul (the Apostle)

The value of sacrifice is as far removed from compromise as loving is from needing. At the moment of decision, it helps to recognize the difference.

The Hero, On Standby

Tue, 10/11/2011 - 06:57 — Thabo Mokete

Every person alive is a success story being written, if we care enough to read. Often it is written in spite of our efforts to sabotage it.

Each person is the main character in his or her own story. Life creates the character and provides the plot, but allows the character to come out alive. The story practically writes itself on the page. Some stories are sad, while others are happy, all according to the way the main character develops.

Where Are The Men?

Tue, 10/04/2011 - 12:09 — Thabo Mokete

"Excuse me, we know how to be men already!"

There is a blurring of sexual identity in our modern culture. Many will be asking, as they do already, where are the men? Can they still be found?

Manhood is a divine mystery! We thought that women were complicated, but that was because we had not sat down to study men. The biggest part of manhood is spirit, and less of nature1. This is contrasted with womanhood where nature tends to contend a lot with spirit.

Fellow Men Part 6 - The Disappoinment Of The Reunion

Tue, 09/27/2011 - 12:16 — Thabo Mokete

(Part 1 to Part 5 is available on the book section

"Love is a spendthrift, leaves its arithmetic at home, is always in the red." - Paul Scherer

Our world of needs makes the reunion between the man and the woman disappointing. Men and women are often shocked to find that what they get from relationships falls short of what they expected.

How would you feel if you hugged someone, but all that the person did was just lean on you? It is wisdom to know the difference between participation and dependence; To remember  that the structures of life are good for participation, not leaning on.

In the moment when you hug someone, the last thing you expect is that someone to lean on you. Maybe the person lost balance or is not well. Whatever the case maybe, you realize this is no longer a hug, but that you are now supporting someone!

Success Through Failure 1 - The Meaning Of Failure

Tue, 09/13/2011 - 12:27 — Thabo Mokete

We know what to do with success. We celebrate it and we enjoy it. But quite often we are at a loss what to do with failure. There is meaning in failure.

We can start by mentioning what failure is not. This is probably the most obvious: Failure is not success. The goal of success was not reached.

Secondly, failure is not the end. We really need to get that straight in our thinking. Failure is not the end.
